Learning preferences
Level, difficulty, goal, and display aids.
1 min read
Your learning preferences shape how study feels day to day.
- Set your level so content matches where you are.
- Choose a difficulty that keeps you challenged, not overwhelmed.
- Pick a daily goal you can actually hit.
- Turn kana or romaji aids on or off as you grow.

- Level starts unset, which means content from every level you can reach.
- Difficulty starts on easy, which mainly affects how forgiving discovery scoring is.
- Daily goal starts at 20 XP.
- Show kana starts on, show romaji starts off.
Changing your level is not destructive
Your level filters what new content is offered. It never deletes cards, never reschedules reviews, and never removes progress from a level you step away from.
You can also add a reverse deck (English to Japanese) and limit how many meanings a card teaches at once.
